The Hendersonville area is home to many Summer Camps for children.  Summer Camp residents come primarily from the Southeast, Northeast and MidwestUnited States.  Here is a listing of these summer camps:

Camp Ton-a-Wandah East Flat Rock, NC  Girls, ages 6 through 15, return each year for their extensive program which offers instruction in more than twenty areas including: archery, riflery, tennis, swimming, horseback riding, canoeing, arts and crafts, drama, dance, basketball, soccer, volley-ball, kayaking, creative cooking, mountaineering, high ropes, rock climbing and more. The camp  offers frequent trips to various area sites for picnics, hiking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing and campouts.

Camp High Rocks    Camp for boys located on a 1000 acre facility  in the mountains of North climb at summer camp camp hrCarolina.  The camp is 8 miles from  Brevard, NC, at an elevation of about 3,000 feet and has it's own lake.

Camp Tekoa  is a summer camp and conference center in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina, near Hendersonville, is owned and operated by the Western NC Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Tekoa offers summer resident and day camps for boys and girls, and hosts group conferences and retreats in the spring, fall, and winter.
Camp Tekoa is a co-ed camp that offers residential (overnight) camps for youth ages 7-17 and day camp for children ages 6-11

Blue Star Camps

Blue Star Camps is an American Camp Association accredited summer camp for Jewish children ages six to sixteen. We offer a truly amazing program that is customized to meet the needs and interests of each individual child. Blue Star presents our campers with a variety of activities ranging from Creative Arts, Land Sports, Outdoor Adventure and Nature, Waterfront, Tennis, Horseback, as well as a Living Judaism program. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, Blue Star empowers campers to develop independence, self-esteem, new skills and life-long friendships. Owned and directed by the Popkin family for sixty years, Blue Star is a sanctuary from the stresses of the “real world” where magic is made each summer in our child-centered world.

Blue Star Camps is set on a private 500 acre estate located just outside of Hendersonville, NC and is a sanctuary from the stresses of the real world. Set along a sparkling trout stream, Camp Arrowhead for Boys has over 200 acres of woodland, streams, meadows, and trails for boys to explore. Founded in 1937, the mission of Camp Arrowhead is to build the character, confidence, courage, and compassion of young boys through time honored camping traditions, exciting outdoor adventures, unique creatively focused programs, and the timeless teachings of Jesus Christ.

We have exceptional leadership. You expect it, we insist on it. All of our counselors are carefully chosen with your child's safety and expanding interests in the forefront of our planning. Our programming includes the traditional camp activities of hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, swimming, archery, fishing, and riflery- and we take it a step further by including blacksmithing, woodworking, and ceramics taught by craftsmen and artisans from all over the southeast.

The people, places, and traditions that have made Camp Arrowhead such a special experience for many generations are available for your son this coming summer. From tribal cabin assignments and council fires, the legend of Ten Foot, Iron Man competitions, and the Pothole Club. We have a great summer ahead, and we hope you'll join us.

Camp Chosatonga

Residential boys' summer camp

Brevard, North Carolina

An awesome experience for boys at our traditional North Carolina summer camp. Surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest our wholesome, trained and dedicated staff help in developing lifetime friendships and skills in many activities! Chosatonga maintains a 3:1 staff to camper ratio with some of the most wholesome and awesome staff on the face of the earth!

Activities include: Rock climbing, backpacking, mountain biking, whitewater canoeing and kayaking, archery, arts & crafts, guitar, fishing & more. We have fun, adventures, and teach rich and wonderful skills

Camp Merri-Mac   Black Mountain, NC
For more than 60 years Merri-Mac for has offered traditional camping with outstanding Christian staff. Riding, backpacking, tennis, climbing, gymnastics, archery, waterskiing, riflery, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, guitar, soccer, volleyball, ropes course, fencing, rafting, dance, drama, and much more are available. Merri-Mac is the sister camp to Timberlake for Boys.
